    About Me:

I’m 24 years old and was born and raised in Blenheim Ontario. I attended Harwich Raleigh Public School, and Blenheim District High School. I graduated from the University of Ottawa in Political Science and Communications.

I have always been interested in municipal politics and decided to run due to declining enrolment of students in rural schools. I believe rural schools are essential to the fabric of Ontario, and need to be supported.

I believe school board trustees should be involved in their communities and schools. Currently I help coach the Blenheim District High school’s cross country team. I enjoy running, swimming, and curling in Blenheim and I’m excited for the future of the Lambton-Kent district school board.

    About Me:

My name is Chris White and I am running for School Board trustee for the English Public board for wards 1,2,3 and I need your help. I need your vote to help me get elected on October 22 2018.

I am 40 years old and married with 3 children; all of whom attend Harwich Raleigh public school in Blenheim. I work in the Agricultural industry and I am proud to have been born and raised in Chatham Kent. I attended public school in Ridgetown (what is now Nahaii Ridge), high school in Chatham (CCI) and received my post secondary education at Queen's University. Currently I am an active volunteer in the community. I volunteer with the Kent County Fillies Girls hockey association; as a board member and Chatham Kent 4H Association as a club leader. I also help with fund rasised for the Windsor Essex ALS Society. I have volunteered in the past with Blenheim Soccer and Zion United Church. I have experience with leadership and decision making as well as working in a formal board of trustee/director setting. A few years ago I was involved in the successful; grassroots movement that successfully saved the French immersion program at Harwich Raleigh.

After we graduating from post secondary my wife and I move away from Chatham Kent for a few years; but returned home shortly after the birth of our first child to settle and build our like for our growing family in our home community; this was over 12 years ago. We think Chatham Kent is a great community to raise our family and part of that is associated with our children's education. I want Chatham Kent to continue to be a great place to live and to raise a family and I want people to want to come here. That is why I need your help.

In order for rural communities to thrive they need people; we need schools in our rural communities if we want people to stay. Communities without schools are communities in decline. I think it is vital to the rural communities to have viable schools. As a trustee I would do everything I could to keep a school in each rural community.

This is difficult work as funding formulas and demographics are not in our favour right now but we need trustees that are willing to think creatively for new solutions to make sure we don't end up with communities without schools. I think I am that person that has some new, fresh and creative ideas to help maintain schools in our rural communities.

I graduated from high school 21 years ago. Since that time I have seen the closure of several schools in our rural communities; Ridgetown Public School; Highgate Public school; CCI to name a few. There has been talk in last couple years of closing more schools in Blenheim and Merlin and Ridgetown . We need to find a way to stop the closures; and help our rural school thrive. If I am a elected I am committed to help find that solution.

    Thank you for your support.

Please forward this to anyone that may be interested. Please feel free to contact with any questions you may have.

    About Me:

I have acclaimed the Lambton Kent District School Board, Public, English Speaking North Chatham-Kent/South Lambton seat. (Ward 4-North Kent and Ward 5 Wallaceburg and South Lambton).

I grew up in the Wallaceburg rural area and was educated with the Lambton County and Kent County School Boards.

I currently reside in Wallaceburg with my husband Jim. Our children were part of the Lambton Kent District School Board and now our grandchildren are part of the Lambton-Kent District School Board. We have an amazing community that will work with the LKDSB and I hope to be the voice of North Kent and South Lambton to represent this area.

I believe the Lambton Kent District School Board should move forward with any curriculum. We have to use our past to gain knowledge and experience, but we should be forward thinking. We can use this gained wisdom to work with our community to ensure we are informed and can make educated choices which can aide in becoming an inclusive community and school board.

I have volunteered for 25 years with various agencies, businesses and groups, some of which are Scouts Canada, LKDSB, Ontario Minor Hockey, Wallaceburg Minor Hockey, Chamber of Commerce, Wallaceburg Business Improvement Area, St. Clair River Run, Wallaceburg and District Council for The Arts and various individual people throughout the Chatham-Kent and Sarnia-Lambton Community.

Volunteering is extremely important to me as it is a way to give back and ensure I understand various aspects of my community.

LKDSB Trustee is something I have wanted to be involved with for sometime, but we had great leadership with our past trustees; Tom and Carmen McGregor that I choose to wait until they completed their service.
