Martha is passionate about education and creating positive change that benefits all. She has a strong focus on education and is dedicated to helping build and maintain a robust system that allows all students …to achieve excellence. Being a trustee is a great honour for Martha and she truly appreciates the trust that the community has placed in her. She works hard to earn this trust by diligently following up on constituent concerns and ensuring that issues are directed to the people who can help.

In her last 4 years as a trustee, Martha has been a member of many committees and held several leadership positions. In these roles, Martha has had the opportunity to learn a tremendous amount about equity, special education, parent engagement, policy, and so much more. Her work on committees has shaped her views and given her a focused vision of an education system that is truly equitable, accessible, and beneficial to all. Martha's leadership positions have allowed her to develop her own skills while providing direction to the Board's policies and procedures. Her dedication to student success and well-being is of utmost importance to her and something that she continually works to maintain and improve.

Martha moved to Guelph for university and loved it so much she decided to stay, get married, and raise a family there. Prior to being a mum to two amazing boys, Martha was a registered veterinary technician. Becoming a trustee was a fitting culmination of many years of volunteering in schools and on board level committees and Martha has greatly enjoyed serving the educational community of the Upper Grand District School Board. She is looking forward to another 4 years of making a difference! More

Linda is the current Chair of the Upper Grand District School Board and has been a Trustee for three terms, first elected in 2006. She has led the board's Strategic Planning process, and worked over two …terms to bring an International Baccalaureate program to the UGDSB, now offered at Guelph CVI. She Co-Chaired the Program Review Committee to bring French Immersion to Dufferin County and has many years of experience on Board Committees such as Special Education Advisory Committee, Budget, Audit, Negotiations Steering, Environmental Management, Equity and the FNMI Advisory Committee. At the provincial level Linda is a member of the Ontario Public School Board Association's Policy Work Team and she has served as a provincial Board Director.

Linda works in community economic development with the West Village Community Development Co-op, an organization that develops programs, services, supports and events for families in one of Guelph's priority neighbourhoods. Drawing on her graduate studies in Planning and Development she works with the neighbourhood residents to build connections, and a healthy community. Linda has participated as a director on many community boards including the Workforce Training & Adjustment Board, Art Gallery of Guelph, Core Literacy, French Immersion Parents Association, United Church Core and UGDSB School Councils.

On a personal note Linda is a 38 year resident of Guelph, an immigrant from Italy/Malta, married with three children, the youngest currently in grade 8. More

Tina Danese is a Guelph candidate for the UGDSB Trustee in Ward 2, 3, & 4 running in this year’s municipal election. Tina is a dedicated and seasoned social worker who has worked in the vulnerable youth …sector making lives better from coast to coast in Canada. Tina brings a lifetime of on-the-ground experience, knowledge, and awareness of the kind of supports and resources students and their parents need to help them navigate this chapter in their lives. Tina understands that supporting students and families enhances resiliency and success in school which means success in life. More

Susan was first elected to the then Wellington County Board of Education in 1991. This is her ninth election. In January 2018, she was recognized by OPSBA and received the President's Award for serving …for over 25 years as a school board Trustee.

She presently serves on the following committees:

Over the years, she has served on many other committees, too numerous to mention, including difficult Accommodation and Boundary Reviews. Susan was a member of The Learning Choices Committee which resulted in establishing a very successful International Baccalaureate Program. She has served on several French Review committees.

Before becoming a Trustee, she was involved in supporting the establishment of a permanent French Immersion Program in 1974. She has also a been an advocate for Mental Health both at the Board table and in the community. In 2000, Guelph-Wellington Barrier-Free Committee awarded her an "Access Recognition Award" for the "Outstanding Contribution of an Educator" for her work in the mental health field.

Susan was born in England and has lived in Guelph for 49 years except for 3 years spent in Nova Scotia. She graduated from Trinity College and later obtained a Certificate Diploma in Computing and Information Science. She worked in the computer field for over 25 years at the University of Guelph. She has three adult children who were educated in Guelph schools and three grandchildren, two of whom attend high school in Guelph.
