Cailin FRAIRAbout Me:
I am born, raised and educated in Sault Ste. Marie. I am a happily married, proud mother of two boys. My education is in Nursing and Business and I am currently working as an Information and Privacy Coordinator …at a local mental health agency. I have no personal agenda going into this election, I simply want to be a parent voice for the community at the board level. I think we need some forward thinking individuals on the school board who have the best interests of the students in mind. I intend on being open and available to the community so that they feel free to bring forward issues or concerns that affect our children and their education.
My faith calls for me to be a very open minded, loving and accepting person. I want everyone represented at the board. Our more modern catholic schools accept children of all religions and backgrounds and we need to continue down this path all while supporting the HSCDSB's mission to be "Guided by the Spirit on our journey, together with family and Church, we mutually invite, encourage and support one another in our efforts to transform the world.".
I know children's mental health is a huge priority at our school board and I feel very strongly that it needs to remain that way and I will keep that in the forefront during any discussions and before making any decisions.
I think we need to be transparent in our operations and improve communication, not just at the board level, but with parents, teachers, administration, students and the community.
I am supportive of any alternatives to traditional learning. I firmly believe that we all learn differently and that so much can be learned from experience. I am also a huge advocate for learning and teaching more life skills.
I would love to have your support on October 22nd and look forward to representing you at the Huron-Superior Catholic District School Board.
Thank you! More -

Joseph RUSCIOElectedAbout Me:
Hello Sault Ste. Marie.
For those of you who may not know me, I'm Joe Ruscio, a local small business owner and chartered accountant. I'm also a candidate to be your next Trustee for the Huron-Superior …Catholic District School Board.
So, why should you place your faith in me as a board Trustee?
My intention to run for board Trustee is grounded in a number of reasons; I'm a community advocate for the teaching mission of the Catholic Church, I'm motivated to be an accessible voice of my community who respectfully listens to constituents and communicates their views, and I will actively collaborate with our Catholic community to cultivate deep, faith-based relationships between home, school, and parish.
As a graduate of the Catholic school board and with two children currently enrolled within the HSCDSB, I believe in the value of spiritual, academic and social teachings offered to our children through the separate school system. Catholic values give our students the opportunity to grow in their faith and help them develop to become good citizens.
Education is important, and so is building one's character and integrity. This is why it is essential that the principles of our Trustees align with Catholic education. If elected, I will make decisions that are consistent with Catholic doctrine.
A little about me?
I'm a husband and proud father of three who is centred by my faith and family.
I serve my Church and community by volunteering on a number of boards and committees, including The Catholic Charismatic Renewal Services of Ontario (Treasurer), St. Vincent Place Men's Shelter,Centre for Social Justice and Good Works Committee,Precious Blood "The Journey" Committee, theSault North Rotary Club (past president), and various committees at Our Lady of Good Counsel and St. Veronica's Parish.
I was born and raised in Sault Ste. Marie and take pride in my Italian heritage.
Thank you for your vote on October 22. Let's proudly work together to restore and honour faith-based learning in our school system.
God bless,
Joe Ruscio and family More -
