Doreen Dewar is the longest serving trustee on the Board with a total of over 25 years, including nine years on the Sudbury Board of Education. She has served as Chair of the Board for the past three years …as well as previously for 5 years on 2 different terms. Over the years, Trustee Dewar has served as a member of every Board committee. As Chair of the Board, she made several presentations to Ministry Standing Committees. She has authored numerous newspaper articles and chaired many sub-committee meetings. Doreen Dewar has been a teacher, homemaker, volunteer, coach and entrepreneur. She ran her own successful retail business for 11 years. She has received awards for community involvement both locally and provincially. Dewar is determined to remain focused on student success, including not only academic excellence, but also encompassing the physical, social, emotional and mental well-being of students. “I am eager to continue to contribute to Rainbow District School Board’s vision of being leaders in learning, inspiring success for all students by reaching minds and touching hearts. The challenges of the many changes in education will continue and I feel I have the experience to be a strong advocate for the young people in our community. More

Jennifer Michaud is a life-long resident of Greater Sudbury and has lived in Lively with her husband for almost 20 years. She is a mother of two wonderful sons who belong to Rainbow District Schools in …Lively: Walden Public and Lively District Secondary Schools. For the past 3 years, Jennifer has been an active member of the Walden Public School Parent Council. In addition, she has served 3 years on the RDSB Parent Involvement Committee including 2 years as Chair. This experience has provided Jennifer with the opportunity to enhance the learning environment for students by engaging parents in Rainbow Schools. A registered nurse by education, Jennifer works for the NE Local Health Integration Network to ensure that health care in Northeastern Ontario meets the needs of its residents. Jennifer looks forward to the opportunity to apply her skills in engaging stakeholders, building community relationships and advocating for quality public education. More
