After spending the last 17 years covering the Bruce-Grey CDSB as a radio news reporter, I have decided to put my name forth as a Trustee candidate. The last 17 years have provided me with ample knowledge …on how the Board runs and what it takes to be a good trustee. I am well versed with Board policies, programs, business models adn Ministry of Education mandates. I believe in teamwork and fostering supportive relationships with students, staff, parents and the community. As a mother of five, I have a vested interest in my children's education. I want my children to have the best Cathoic education system possible. This includes teh need to protect and safetuard what makes our system so unique. And while I fully support the need to provide a strong academic foundation for students, I believe it is even more important to ensure we have nurtured their souls. The greatest lesson we can teach our students is tha they have great worth. If every student truly knew how valued and loved they are by God, what confident and resilient youth they would be. I am also well connected with my home parish, Holy Family Church in Hanover. I have been involved in Church ministry most of my life, I am currently a member of the choir, my two oldest boys are altar servers and my husband has been an active member of the Knights of Columbus for almost a decade. If given the chance to serve as Trustee, I vow to do my best to serve as a guardian of the faith and an advocate for parents, students and teh community as a whole. More
