Hello Sarnia and Point Edward Voters,
I am asking you to re elect me as a trustee for the Lambton Kent District School Board and following is a brief description of my experiences, beliefs and values. …If elected, I will be serving you for a fourth term which if you view the minutes of the Board Meetings, you will see that I am a very active trustee who puts the students and their families first.
I am a grandparent and lifetime educator with over 45 years of education experience at the secondary and college level as well as at the Board level. One of my grandchildren has graduated from Secondary School and the other three are students at Northern.
My wife and I have been involved with the community through the Rebound program, as we have facilitated parenting groups; have been volunteers to facilitate “Youth Justice Circles" and coached adolescent groups. We have been volunteers for the Special Olympics and presently arevolunteers for the upcoming Special Olympics.
My guiding principles for being a trustee include honesty, transparency, reliability, advocacy, and service.
I believe very strongly in education as being the best investment in the future of our students, their families, our community, and our country. Malinda LITTLEElectedAbout Me:
My name is Malinda Little and I live in Sarnia. I am running for Trustee with the Lambton Kent District School Board, representing the City of Sarnia & Village of Point Edward.
During my time as …a Trustee I was a member of the Student Senate, Indigineous Liaison and the Parents Information Committee’s. I also had the honor to serve as the Chair of the Supervised Adult Learning (SAL) committee. I am an Executive Office Administrator currently working with JD Lawn Service and have worked in the Customer Service Industry for years before that while my children were young.
I am the Mother of three. One is in Elementary, one is in High School and the eldest is in College. I know the challenges we face as caregivers of brilliant young minds. We want the best for them and I feel like progress is important when it comes to education. I aspire to be a positive voice for our communities with an open mind to appropriate and progressive change. I was inspired to apply to be a trustee because I saw the struggles my children and others were having in the school system and I wanted to advocate for change. Over time, I have seen some positive changes but there is still a lot of work to do . I would love to continue representing the voices of the families and educators of the students in this community. I believe in education adapting to the needs of our kids and the best way to achieve that is by finding ways to support the creative ideas from our educators.
It would be an honor to have the privilege to serve the City of Sarnia and the Village of Point Edward for the next four years. More
Bevin PERDUAbout Me:
As a full-time working mother of two young children, both enrolled at Lambton Kent District School Board schools, becoming a school board trustee means ensuring that education remains at the forefront …of our schools, preparing my children and all children for the jobs of tomorrow.
I have spent the last four years as a valued member of our school’s parent council, helping to raise funds for school programs and being a voice for parents in our school community. I am an active volunteer in the Sarnia- Lambton community involved with Relay for Life and a former member of the Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals.
The pandemic had a huge impact in schools, and we need to ensure that we are working with school boards, teachers, parents, and community partners to help students get back on track and to move forward with their education. Let’s be prepared and know what works and what challenges were faced in case we ever face another pandemic. We also need to do better in understanding special needs in the classrooms and how equity and inclusivity are vital to supporting all students in the classroom.
Now more than ever we need to listen and understand the challenges that schools are facing and make decisions that will benefit all students now and in the future. As a trustee, I will ensure that your voice is heard and work together to see that positive changes happen. More

Chris WHITEAbout Me:
44 years old married with 3 kids (grades 8,10,12) . live in the former harwich township next door to the farm I grew up on. I have been employed in Agribuisness for the last 20+ years.
I am running …to become a trustee in order for there to be a voice on the board to keep our rural and small town schools open and viable options . If we let these schools close then those communities face a bleak future without schools, and the young and growing families that they bring . This challenge is not small but we need to start with the idea that keeping the schools open is goal to aim for and work from that perspective. We need to get creative and see what we can come up with to achieve this goal. As …a coach, club mentor and teacher I would like to see technical education brought back to the elementary schools to afford students a chance to explore. The secondary school programs need to be promoted as a career path. Funding for these programs need to be improved and industrial connections built to give students a more realistic look at what trades have to offer.Physical education and the arts also need to be addressed as these areas go hand in hand with mental health and well being for our kids as well.I have always been and will be an advocate for kids. Brandy ROBERTSONAbout Me:
I believe that maintaining quality public education is key to success for our young people and communities at large. These last 2 ½ years have been very challenging for students, parents and teachers and …going forward I would like to help strengthen the public school system so students have the stability necessary to prosper, teachers have the tools they need and parents feel heard and engaged.
I have been an advocate and involved community volunteer for many years serving as a youth leader, board member and past president of various local non-profits and have also walked through the school years as an involved foster parent and Aunt attending school functions including IEP meetings.
My volunteer and career experience includes establishing and managing balanced budgets with a mind to always being a good steward of resources while still being creative in problem solving and seeking growth. I am very conscious of how policies affect the individual/families and am thoughtful in my decision-making process. Student success and well-being would absolutely be the number 1 priority in any decisions and I would like to see an increased focus on STEM and Skilled Trades. Accessibility is something that I also value very strongly and would welcome any calls, visits or emails. I would appreciate your consideration of being your voice at the table. More

Trevor ALDOUSAbout Me:
Following in my Grandfathers footsteps as a former School Board Trustee for Dresden I am looking to represent Ward 4 and 5 in the upcoming election. I currently represent Ward 5 Wallaceburg on the Committee …of Adjustment and have done so since I was appointed in July 2019. My current and past working roles have focused on Management Governance and Audit on procedures and policies, as well as negotiations for a telecommunications company. My family’s origins started in the Chatham-Kent area and this led us to moving back here in 2016. Since that time both my wife and I have volunteered in different aspects of the Community. More
Janet BARNESElectedAbout Me:
I have been a community supporter and volunteer for more than 35 years. I have been part of numerous boards and committees including minor sports, fundraising, festivals, events, grant writing and community …growth in the Wallaceburg, Chatham-Kent and south Lambton area.
I was born and raised in the rural Wallaceburg area and have an agricultural and inclusive background. I have owned properties in the Wallaceburg area for 34 years. I currently work full-time as a Developmental Service Professional at Community Living Wallaceburg and have been employed there for 20 years. My husband and I have been together for almost 32 years and have raised our family in this community.
I am the current Chatham-Kent Ward 4 and 5/South St. Clair Township English Public School Board Trustee. The last four years have been an incredible learning experience with many firsts for the Lambton Kent District School Board.
Numerous mandates from Public Health and the Ministry of Education have been enforced with little or no input from our board or trustees over this four year period.
I hope to be chosen as a trustee for the LKDSB for the next four years, but Trevor is a capable candidate as well so the people will decide who they believe is the best candidate. I truly believe kindness and community support is the way to ensure our area thrives. More

Kathryn SHAILERAbout Me:
As a lifelong educator—and even more importantly, as a mother of two and grandmother of three—I understand well the issues facing our schools and our children today.
I bring over forty years of …experience as a postsecondary teacher and administrator, including directing and teaching in continuing educations programs for reskilling and upskilling adult learners
As we emerge from the pandemic, we need to understand and address the full impact of the past two+ years, to assess what was lost—not only in terms of academics, but also social skills and the mental well-being of our students and teachers.
Beyond that, we live in a rapidly changing world. A strong and responsive public K-12 system is the foundation for long-term solutions: developing the right skills, cultivating innovators, and preparing the leaders of tomorrow.
