Amy COLLARDÉlu(e)À propos de moi :
I'm Amy Collard and my campaign for re-election as your Public School Trustee for Ward 5, Burlington is underway!
I didn't make the decision to run for re-election lightly. If the pandemic has taught …me anything, it's that we need to ensure our students and staff can learn and work in a safe and welcoming environment.
The challenges ahead of us, as this pandemic winds down, will be many. From ensuring mental health supports for students and staff, to re-thinking how public education can be improved, to providing the necessary educational supports to ensure students are successful, to working within the provincial funding model while still providing the best education possible.
We all want the very best education for our children, and I have worked hard to ensure our annual budgets reflect that. I am especially passionate about ensuring all students have equitable access to the resources they need to be successful socially and academically.
During the last 12 years I've been a strong advocate for students, staff, families and communities and I will continue to bring your voice to the boardroom for the next 4 years!
I've already visited over 11,000 homes in Ward 5 during this campaign, and had hundreds of conversations with parents and grandparents about their hopes and dreams for their children and grandchildren. If I haven't already been to your door, I look forward to meeting you soon.
Thank you so much for your ongoing support!

Gemma AHNÀ propos de moi :
I have over 15+ years experience driving results that matter. My career background as a consultant has been helping organizations reach their goals. I am now ready to bring that same focus to helping families …and students obtain their educational goals and give them the necessary life-skills they need for their future.
- Resilient, impactful leader, with over 15+ years experience driving results and positive change
- Respected, community builder who lives and serves in Oakville
- Caring, resident of Ward 5, I care deeply for the families and residents who live and work in our neighbourhood and community
- Trusted friend who actively advocates for those who need a voice
They say it takes a village to raise a child, and I am proud to be able to say that for me, that “village” was Oakville. I grew up in this town completing both my elementary and high school education prior to leaving to pursue my university and career aspirations as a management consultant.
13 years ago, when it came time to raise a family of my own, I made the easy decision to return to Oakville and have lived in Ward 5 ever since. Oakville has grown and changed significantly since the days of my childhood. It has become increasingly beautiful with the presence of diverse communities, new faces, and growing neighbourhoods; but in our efforts to continue to grow and thrive as a community, further changes are still required.
To be able to make a lasting impact on our schools and community my primary areas of focus are:
1) Educational Standards - building up the necessary achievement objectives, key competencies and growth mindset skills that prepare students for the next step in their education and the real-life world
2) Advocating for the “Whole Student” – listening and caring for their mental and physical wellbeing, understanding the barriers that they and their families face that prevent learning, growing, and having fun at school, and advocating for helpful support and change
3) Accountability & Transparency - Aligning the systems within our schools to measure and monitor progress and achievement, and providing the needed support to enable the necessary changes to achieve goals
4) Partnership & Trust – Foster an on-going, trust building dialogue between students, parents, guardians, and educators to resolve hard issues together and be the “village” our students need.
“My hope in running for School Board Trustee for Wards 5 and 7 is to work with students, families, educators, and the community. I hope to continue to equip and enable our students to navigate through these complex times and prepare them to be resilient community builders, impactful leaders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and positive influencers of the future.”

Kelly AMOSÉlu(e)À propos de moi :
Kelly is running for re-election for the Oakville Ward 5 & 7 community to make a difference for all children including her own. It is important to ensure that parents have a voice and that their concerns …are addressed. She is the only Trustee candidate who is a parent and had children in the system.
Kelly is committed to public education and her motivation to run as a trustee is the children. She wants to continue to make an impact and ensure that the focus is on making sure all students are learning to the best of their ability. She has been an active part of the Oakville community for over 30 years, She is married and lives with her husband and family in Ward 5.
Over the past 22 years Kelly has been very active in the public education system. She’s volunteered in her children’s schools, was on School council and has been your School Board Trustee for over 18 years including 4 years as Chair of the Board.
She is out in the community, knows what the community is saying and it’s concerns, and makes sure they are heard at the Board. And more importantly Kelly has been successfully advocating, making sure there are community schools built, such as Dr. David R. Williams PS and the new NE Oakville #3 elementary school which will be built for Fall 2023, the new NE Oakville #1 High School to open Fall 2024, and the new NE Oakville #5 PS to open Fall 2024. She has spoken to the Minister of Education and MPP’s to make sure that this community's needs are recognized and so that we get the schools we need. Kelly has been continuing to make sure that the needs of North Oakville are continuously raised and has been successful in getting funding for 5 schools in 8 years. She has also worked to deliver upgrades to White Oaks Secondary School, River Oaks, Montclair, Sunningdale & Post’s Corners Public Schools.
As your Trustee representative at the Board, Kelly has brought forward important issues including spearheading a campaign to provide Fair Funding for all HDSB students, which she Chaired. She has also brought forward motions which have resulted in the Inspire Awards, which provides recognition of the many inspirational students, staff and community in the system, looking at later start times for High School, reduction in wait times for special education screening and many more.
As well as being Chair of the Board, Kelly has been Vice-Chair of the Board, Chair of the Communication committee, Chair of the Director performance committee, Chair of the Transportation Committee, and has been active on all standing Board committees. She has also been the Trustee representative on the Halton Learning Foundation and the Halton Student Transportation System.
Kelly has proven she is financially and politically astute and makes sure all decisions are what is best for all students. She has the time and energy to dedicate herself to this role.
Kelly helped create the HDSB Parent Involvement Committee (PIC), and for the first 2 years of its existence was Chair and is still actively involved.
Kelly believes communication is important. Since 2000 she has brought all the school councils in our community to meet regularly throughout the year and discuss many different issues, which has improved communication with and between schools and she communicates regularly through email, Facebook and Twitter.
Kelly believes in student success – from positive learning experiences in classrooms to recognizing all student achievements. She believes each student should learn to the best of their ability in safe and welcoming school environments.
A trustee needs to balance the needs of individual children versus the needs of a school area and the needs of the whole system. Kelly has proven she can make that balance and make the decisions necessary to give our children our best. Kelly always votes with the children in mind! Kelly looks forward to continuing to represent you as your trustee for Oakville Wards 5 & 7 at the Halton District School Board. When you vote for Kelly Amos, you are voting for our children. Plus
